We are excited to announce that we are now extending our referral reward program to include personal training. It is becoming more important in today’s society to spread the word of health, fitness and stress reduction and we want to encourage everyone to reach out and make a difference to those around you who may need to relax, renew and find a path to a new healthier lifestyle.

• Receive a $25.00 credit for every ( 5 )friends that you refer to enjoy our Spa services.

• Receive a $25.00 credit for every ( 1 ) friend who signs up for a 12 session Personal Training package.

These Spa credits can be used for services and/ or boutique and supplement purchases. We are thrilled to be able to give back to you !

In today’s fast paced society, often we find it difficult to find the TIME to take care of what is most important, our HEALTH. The ever increasing demands on our lives have left us exhausted at the end of the day as our bodies begin to reveal signs of this ongoing drama. The rise in obesity rates and other heart related diseases tell the tale of our busy lives and the fast decline of our physical condition.

The most important place to begin to reverse this process is by getting a good look at where YOU are physically, right NOW. This can be done with a Fitness Evaluation offered at The Body Sanctuary, Inc. where you will get the support and surround you need to re-prioritize your lifestyle. Discovering your starting points through a Fitness Evaluation will also allow you to set new and practical goals on your map to optimal health. Teryl Worster, our Fitness Director/ Owner, will work with you to put together a custom program and support you in a one on one environment, or in any of our new semi-private small group classes to help you establish a new and healthy routine.

We are excited to announce the addition of small group, semi-private and creative cardio dance sessions here at The Body Sanctuary, Inc. at  The Spa on Green Street! These classes afford you the luxury of a personal training experience with minimal investment due to the structure of these small yet valuable classes. Our very own Barbara Miller has created a 30-minute “Fat Blasting” Cardio Dance Workout on the treadmill that will add some excitement into your daily routine. This is a personalized cardio coaching session utilizing creative dance and movement to increase your heart rate. In an effort to create a low cost yet highly effective personal training opportunity, we have created a FUN and INTERACTIVE class designed to give participants an introduction to Pilates, it’s benefits and a GREAT workout.These classes will offer a fusion of old and new philosophies building a solid foundation of posture and movement habits.

In the uncertain world of health care reform, the rising toxicity of our atmosphere and increasing levels of stress, it seems that most concerns are outside of our control.We do however have the ability to control our health and fitness by taking steps to ensure that we can have the most optimal life available to us. It takes committment and personal responsibility to make lifestyle changes but the payoff is a longer life filled with vitality, optimal mobility and ultimately more pleasure. Here are a few tips for maintaining your health and increasing longevity:

1. Weight Resistance Exercise at least 3 days a week. This would include yoga, pilates or any type of functional training.

2. Cardiovascular Exercise at least 4 days a week. This would include power walking, running, swimming or any type of activity that keeps your heart rate up consistantly for 20-30 minutes.

3. Balanced diet of protein with plenty of green leafy vegetables. Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day. Eat plenty of color!

4. Regular massage on a monthly basis. Massage is critical for the effective growth of new muscle and in healing injured or strained tissue. It is also helpful in removing toxins from the body, this keeps the body youthful and reduces stress.

5. Regular facials every 6 weeks. We can’t forget the importance of skin health as we age. Getting regular facials allows the body to regenerate new collagen and generates growth of new healthier cells through exfoliation and hydration.
